A Russia visa is a stamp or endorsement placed by officials of Russia on a passport that allows the bearer to visit Russia. Visas are obtained from the Embassy or consulates of Russia for your visit. "Visit" is further defined as the reason for entry, usually business, tourist or transitory. There are over 270 countries that offer visas and literally thousands of different types of visas available based upon country, type of visit, and length of visit.
All US Citizens require a visa and a US passport to travel to Russia, whether for business or tourism. MOST foreign nationals require a visa. We can help you to obtain a visa as well as a US passport.
A passport is an official government document that certifies one's identity and citizenship. The passport serves two purposes; to regain entry to the country of citizenship (i.e. the United States) and is a requirement by many countries to gain entry to the country you are visiting.
A Russia visa is an official government document that temporarily authorizes you to be in the country. Many countries require a visa to gain entry. The Russia visa is in the form of a stamp/sticker IN the passport and is obtained from a Russia Embassy in Washington DC or consulates around the country. We have staff spread around the country to hand carry your application for you and then overnight the passport back when it is completed.
Typically, a visa takes anywhere from 2 days to 15+ days to process in the Russia Embassy/Consulate depending on the consulate that we need to send the application. The processing time for a visa is dependent on several factors and can change without notice at the consulate's discretion. Provide your SIGNED passport. Your passport must be signed on the appropriate line. (For US citizens the line is located on the page following your information page). The passport must be valid with an expiration date greater than six (6) months from the date of entry for the visa you are applying for. Passport must have sufficient blank pages (at least 2 pages) for any visa stamps. These pages must say VISAS at the top of the page.
If your passport does not meet the requirements, we can assist with renewing a US Passport or obtain a new US Passport from us prior to obtaining the visa.

Before you begin your Russian visa application, please have your Tourist Support Voucher ready. If you do not know what this is, please see the section below labeled "Tourist Visa Support Voucher".
Once you've confirmed your Russian Tourist Support Voucher continue to the Russian Consular website - Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Website
You must provide 2 passport photos. These passport photos must match the requirements of a standard US passport photo. They must be taken at an official passport photo provider (pharmacy, Costco, post office) and should not be taken and printed via a home photo printer.
Copy of computer generated round trip tickets or travel itinerary showing round trip travel entering Russia and exiting Russia. Preferably, the proof of departure documents should show your departure from the United States to Russia and back. Additionally, the Applicant's name must be on the travel document.
In order to apply for a tourist visa, you must have a Tourist Support Voucher. Please read our RUSSIAN INVITATION GUIDE.
You may have been provided a Tourist Support Voucher by your hotel or travel agent, if you do, please provide an English Translation with it. Not providing an english translation may result in delays as the Tourist Voucher will have to be manually translated.
Minor Requirements
Birth Certificate - A copy of the child’s Birth Certificate, in which it is evident that neither of the parent is or was a citizen of the Russian Federation.
Copies of both parent’s valid passports.
Either the mother or the father must sign the application form.
