Do You Need a Passport to go on a Cruise?

Although a passport is not required for a cruise at this time for U.S. citizens taking “closed loop” cruises, we strongly recommend that all guests travel with a passport (valid for at least six months beyond completion of travel). Having a passport will enable guests to fly from a foreign port back to the US if they miss their cruise ship leaving port.
